Why do you say this? Ive owned many an auto and frankly they can be fast as hell. Hell this one has chirped going into 2nd twice now. And ive olny had it a week. And this is on 92HP. Lemme get this car worki\ed on and brinf\g on a standard if you got one and lets go. Ill hit upwards of 7 grand trust me...Now then, is there anyone out there who could answer the question?

My old GL (1500) with a manual box redlined at 6200 according to the factory tacho. There was no rev limiter that came with the car. I'm guessing you are in a similar boat with the USDMs - maybe you have a limiter.

I don't think anyone should knock auto 'boxes - they make great boat anchors

An Auto Chirping 2nd??? Sorry guy thats hard to believe. I had a auto DX an it cut off ay 5500-5800. Hell I couldnt chirp 1st at all in that thing! Im not busting on your car but Honda autos arent going to be quick at all

Im not saying they are fast. I just wanted to know what the redline was... And yes chirped into 2nd. allbeit small but it did. Im sure it once i get new wheels (still stock 13's ) But nonthe less it did.

My old 89 civic lx 4 door was auto and it chirped second a couple of times..But then i saw that the tires were low...And then i got it filled and it wouldn't do it anymore...

im sure you can redline it and chirp 2nd, but you have to manually shift the car, i hope you know what i mean...my friend would do this in his crx...crazy kid...

Do be careful Civic_Loki, i've seen a few 4th gen auto's bite the big one (honda was still playin around with the auto's a bit at that time). Most are pretty good, yours hopefully is, but i've seen some auto's really do goto hell on 4th gen civics...so if your gonna bark tires...do it only when nessary (when is that? no clue lol).

BTW, yea the 1.5 redline should be 6800 if you could watch it on a tach.

My parents used to have a 1992 acura legend. If the street surface was right I could sometimes get that thing to chirp into second. So it is not totally impossible(but nearly impossible with a 92hp dx) to have a automatic chirp into second gear.
